FAQ's
Q. What is Hypnosis?
A. Hypnosis is a state that we all encounter in our daily lives:
when we are day dreaming; just before we fall asleep and just as we wake up;
when we are driving and are so familiar with the route we lose track of
where we are and how long we have been driving
and when we are listening to music or to someone intently.
Q. I would like to Stop Smoking - how can Hypnotherapy help me?
A. Hypnotherapy has been proven to be the most effective way to Stop Smoking.
During our initial telephone conversation we
will decide if you have a lot of stress or worries in your life and so we will have a stress reducing session -
before the Stopping Smoking session - that
will help to ensure that any pattern of constant stress or worrying is not repeated.
The Stopping Smoking session is the same as all of my other sessions -
totally relaxing and empowering and it will leave you will a huge boost of confidence as
well as helping you to end your habit.
Q. What is Hypnotherapy?
A. Hypnotherapy is a clinical hypnotist's way of harnessing these lovely relaxing states
in order to bring about a positive change in a person. It can work with any problem
and it is the most effective and also quickest way to change our lives.
Q. Will my personality be changed in any way?
A. No, hypnotherapy does not change who you are - it changes what you are capable of being.
If you are fearful of something then hypnotherapy can take away the reason
for that fear, if you lack confidence - your natural confidence can be
brought out so you feel great again.
Q. What is the difference between stage hypnosis and the clinical hypnosis that you practice?
A. Stage hypnosis is a form of hypnosis that was invented by hypnotists to work with
a group of people for entertainment - clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy are serious
clinical ways to change lives for the better and it is not comical at all.
A practitioner of hypnotherapy will be empathic to your problem and a sincere
clinician and a stage hypnotist is seen for entertainment value.
Q. How old is the practice of Hypnotherapy?
A. The 'Father' of hypnosis was Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815) and it is from his name
that we get the term 'mesmerised'. Modern therapists, including Tania Cheslaw,
follow the work of, amongst others. Dr. Milton Erickson (1905-1980). Dr. Erickson pioneered the use of NLP.
